Your Hoist portal will be provided with OpenAI access, however there will be rate limits. In order to use the Hoist API and to extend your usage limits, you will need to provide your own OpenAI API key.
Please follow these steps.
- As a first step, an OpenAI account will be needed so, if you don't have one yet, visit https://platform.openai.com/signup?launch (if you already have one, jump to step 9).
- Enter you email address and click Continue.
- Enter a password and click Continue.
- A verification email will be sent to you inbox, so make sure you click the Verify email address button.
- Enter your first name and last name, and click Continue.
- For security reasons, you will need to enter a valid phone number and click Send code via SMS.
- You will receive a 6 digit code via SMS, so make sure you enter your code.
- You will be asked how will you primarily use OpenAI. Pick the option that best suits you.
- You will now have a fully activated OpenAI account. In order to purchase an API key, visit https://platform.openai.com/ and click on Upgrade on the top right corner (or go directly to https://platform.openai.com/account/billing/overview).
- Click on Set up paid account.
- Select I'm an individual option.
- Enter your credit card and billing details, and click Set up payment method.
- After that, visit https://platform.openai.com/account/api-keys and click on + Create new secret key.
- Enter an optional name for the key and click Create secret key.
- After that, you will be presented with an API key. Please, make sure you store this value securely since you won't be able to view it again.
- Please raise a support ticket and provide us with your API key.
